When was the last time you had to speak in front of a group? How did you feel?

I speak in front of groups all the time. It's really not a big deal. I'm always anxious that I've prepared enough, can answer the questions, etc. But, honestly? I enjoy it. I guess it's the teacher in me.

I am a teacher too, so speaking in front of people is not difficult. I think people fear judgement. I agree with the not being prepared part as well. Nothing is worse than having to say "I'll have to check into that." Do you do a lot of presentations at staff meetings?

I do some training for our Consortium, which I'd like to do more of as time allows. And I don't really mind saying, "let me have your email address and I'll get back to you on that" but it helps if I can answer the questions right away. I also tell them that, as a librarian, I'll give them an answer and they need to figure out whether or not I'm making it up. ;) That always gets a laugh.
Where do you teach?
