Have you ever been on either end of an unrequited love?

Of course. Even if you don't know it, everyone's been on the end of an unrequited love.
But I've known at least 4 people who claim to have been in love with me and I didn't share the feelings.
Now, the harder part of this question is admitting that I've been in love with someone who didn't love me back. I've been there once that was completely heartbreaking. The others were young "puppy love" and while not heartbreaking, did hurt.
But that's how we learn how to love - both others and ourselves.
