What were your New Year's resolutions for 2006? How did you do?
I don't make New Year's resolutions. When I want to do something, I do it. Putting an artificial date on it seems foolish to me. Besides, the new year should be celebrated in the spring anyway. The middle of winter is for hibernation.

]]>Because I'm an atheist, people generally are amused by the fact that I enjoy Christmas music. O Holy Night is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Just because I don't believe in the sentiment doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the music that comes out of it. That said, my two favorite seasonal songs are fairly new. The first one I like because it really expresses how I feel about the season. The second? Because it expresses how I feel about how hypocritical people are during this time of year.

Well, yes, I am. I finish most things I start, even if it means doing something distasteful. However, when it comes to the food on my plate, I'd rather throw it out than give it to the starving children in Africa. Because by the time it got there, it'd be a horribly spoiled mass of leftover refried beans and chicken.
Global Orgasm for Peace Day Not gonna tell you with whom or when, but I have to say it did wonders for my positive energy. However, the question of whether or not the large amount of positive energy created (as per the AlterNet article) can change anything, I'm wondering how many care. Get laid! Have fun! Don't fake it.

Well, that applies to so much in life. If we all just stopped going through the motions and faking it and lived the way we want (assuming it doesn't hurt anyone and makes you happy), then the world might actually change. So the positive thought is fine, but it also comes down to making sure you're not lying to yourself and others - be it through faking an orgasm (and yes, I do this, every woman does. But I always give it an honest go first.), or faking surprise, or happiness at work or with a lifepartner, it doesn't matter. Stop faking it, start living like you mean it.
