If you could write like one fiction author, who would it be?
Submitted by Marilyn.
Myself. I do have what I consider a good fiction writing style. Been published once a long time ago. Working on reshaping a story I wrote years ago to update and clean up the language. It walks that popular line between YA and mid-20s lit. So we'll see how it goes. It's a good story and I'm back in that groove.
At least not having slept in 6 months is good for something.
What's the best way to get on your good side?
Submitted by Manon-It-All.
Hmmm. Depends what you're trying to get from me.
If you're trying to be my friend, be honest, have courage of your convictions, be open minded and non-judgemental.
Professionally, if you're after me to do something, ask nicely and don't demand. And expect me to prioritize you according to my priorities, not yours.
If you're trying to have sex with me, ask nicely. Drinks occasionally work, as do dancing and hanging out. ;)

Hmmm. I'm actually in the middle of 3 at the moment:
Just started the Maureen Dowd on a recommendation from a friend. So far, it's interesting, but I'm not far enough into it to say anymore.
What are five things you're good at?
Submitted by HapaLove.
Oh, really. You want to know what I'm good at on a public blog. Fine. I'll stick to the SFW things, though the other things are infinitely more fun and more interesting...
- reading & managing people
- being on time
- listening
- cooking
- never finishing lists

Xanadu - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure dome decree
Where Alph, the sacred River, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.
So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round:
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;
And here were forests as ancient as the hills
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.
But Oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon lover!
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething
As if this Earth in fast thick pants were breathing,
A mighty fountain momently was forced:
Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst
Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail,
Or chaffy grain beneath the threshers flail:
And 'mid these dancing rocks at once and ever
it flung momently up the sacred river.
Five miles meandering with a mazy motion
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran,
Then reached the caverns measureless to man,
And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean:
And 'mid this tumult Kubla heard from far
Ancestral voices prophesying war!
The shadow of the dome of pleasure
Floated midway on the waves;
Where was heard the mingled measure
From the fountain and the caves.
It was a miracle of rare device,
A sunny pleasure dome with caves of ice!
A damsel with a dulcimer
In a vision once I saw:
It was an Abyssinian maid,
And on her dulcimer she played,
Singing of Mount Abora.
Could I revive within me
Her symphony and song,
To such a deep delight 'twould win me,
That with music loud and long
I would build that dome in air,
That sunny dome! Those caves of ice!
And all who heard should see them there,
And all should cry, Beware! Beware!
His flashing eyes, his floating hair!
Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honeydew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

- What was your favorite toy as a kid?
Define "kid" my big wheel? my skis? my bicycle? my barbies? Technically, I was a kid when I played with all of those, some of them were my favorites. But mostly, I liked being outside and playing in nature. - What type of music or band do you love?
Oh, you're asking the wrong person. I love music of most kinds - from classical to acid metal. It all depends on the quality of the band. - What color can't you live without?
fleshtone, considering that if I don't have it, I'm probably dead. - What is your favorite scent?
hmmmm....currently, vanilla? maybe chocolate chip cookies? the smell of my grandmother's old house? - Show us something you love.
