Gay Couples Celebrate California Court Ruling
SAN FRANCISCO — Gay and lesbian couples in San Francisco rejoiced
Thursday over a California Supreme Court decision affirming their right
to marry even as political leaders on both sides of the issue girded
for an extended fight in the courts and at the ballot box.

Course, it'll probably be bumped up to the US Supreme Court, but hey, this is awesome!
But I had done this one back in March.
I think my favorite is still
time is never wasted being me
Hey...everyone who hasn't done it yet - tag, you're it. ;)
Show us a photograph from a wedding.

Oh, this made me chuckle. Which is probably a good thing.
Regardless, here's a photo from my cousin Matthew's wedding to his wife Mary.
Who was the last person you offended?

I have no idea. The people I hang out with aren't easily offended.
Though I am many people's antichrist, so probably one of them, just by living.
What are your top five break-up songs?
Submitted by gt.
I'm with Bookmole on this one. There are so many different kinds of breakups that I'm not sure that 5 songs covers it. And I'm joining this with my lyric of the day, because it seems silly not to.
However, if I need to pick 5, the ones below come to mind. And I know they're female heavy. When I think of breakup songs,, I do think of women, mostly because I think they sing about heartbreak better than men.
"Well, it's too late then
You could have told me when
Living died;
When passion lied."
"I suppose I should be happy to be misread
Better be that
Than some of the other things I have become.
But nobody wants to hear this tale.
The plot is cliched,
The jokes are stale."
"For all the things I said to her
And all the ways I tried.
And all the things I did for her
Are lost with one goodbye."
This is the song I have in my head at the moment (for all the correct reasons), but it doesn't fit yesterday. Yesterday was an odd day. I started out being bitched out at work for something stupid that wasn't my fault, and then told that I could have the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend off (go me - 4 days off this weekend and 5 off next. Course, I have annoying commitments many of those days, but still, it's not at work.) I also have made peace with some stuff that came to a head over the weekend. So while things aren't resolved, I'm in a decent place thanks to my own strength, good friends, and a good therapist. Not necessarily in that order.
So I've been trying to figure out what song fits yesterday and this is the one that comes to mind first. And it says a lot that I can recognize those I have let in and, while I'm still farking scared to death, I hope know trust hope that they won't intentionally hurt me.
We're in an evolution
I have heard it said.
Everyone's so busy now but
Do we move ahead?
The planets hurling and
Atoms splitting
And a sweater for your love you sit there knitting.
I don't know where it all begins.
And I don't know where it all will end.
We're better off for all that we let in.

What do you daydream about? Is it something far-fetched, or something that might actually happen?
Submitted by lost_in_eternity2207.
Yes.
I daydream about things that might happen (vacations to Amsterdam and Paris, sex with certain people, etc.) and I also daydream about things that will never happen (sex with certain people, certain others dying horrible deaths, etc.)
That's the beauty of dreams - day or otherwise - they're mine and no one can say they're good or bad, wrong or right.
Wow, Sarah, I hadn't done it. So here I go. And now I'm sitting at my desk crying. Dammit.
You can't hide
Behind social graces.
So don't try
To be all touchy-feely
Cuz you lie
In my face of all places.
But I've got no
Problem with that really.
What bugs me
Is that you believe what you're saying.
What bothers me
Is that you don't know how you feel.
What scares me
Is that while you're telling me stories,
You actually
Believe that they are real.
And I got
No illusions about you.
Guess what?
I never did.
When I said
When I said I'll take you,
I meant
I meant as is.

Cuts May Add Layer of Dust to Library Shelves
That's my position. That's going away.
How can a library in 2008 not have a dedicated webmaster?
It's really for the last couple days.
Where are you?
And I'm so sorry.
I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight.
I need somebody and always
This sick strange darkness
Comes creeping on,
So haunting every time.
And as I stared
I counted
The webs from all the spiders
Catching things and eating their insides.
Like indecision to call you
And hear your voice of treason.
Will you come home and stop this pain tonight?
Stop this pain tonight.
Don't waste your time on me
You're already
The voice inside my head.
