By now, you're all probably sick of seeing my face. Oh well, I've had at least one person tell me that the photos are interesting and she's checking daily to make sure I've put at least one on flickr. So, I might as well cross-post.
Steri-strips fell off last night after I showered. Still tender to the touch, but not bad. I have a follow-up doc appt this morning, so we'll see what he has to say.
Thanks to all for your good wishes and thoughts. They mean a lot to me and I really do appreciate them.
Well, the magenta is migrating down to below my eye and really looks like a bruise now. It still hurts to the touch, and if I smile too much, but that's better than the constant pain that was. Vision is still ok, though my eye got tired at a meeting yesterday (PowerPoint presentation with bad lighting) and I had to leave early.
Here's today's look:
Well, today, the eye is a bright magenta, but the places it hurts, the bony areas, are still swollen but not as discoloured as the eyelid, which doesn't really hurt. To appease my mom, I'm going to take photos every day. It'll keep her from coming down to take care of me. Click through for the flickr set.
Today, I lost a fight with a wet floor and this is the after effects. At least I didn't need stitches. And the bruising and swelling doesn't really come through in this photo. But click through to flickr for a couple more. I was really concerned that I broke my cheekbone, mostly because of the reconstructive surgery that I had on my upper jaw years ago. But no. The xrays were clean. It hurts like hell though.
and my arm hurts. It was in for 7 years (2 longer than it was viable), but because of the situation, I decided to have it removed so, eventually, if need be, I can go on some other sort of birth control. Right now, there's no need for me to do so, but I wanted the option.
I have to say that I was pleased with the way the Norplant worked. For 5 years, I didn't have to worry about taking a pill, getting a shot, putting on a patch. It was just there. It's a shame that they took this off the market.
But I'll have a nice scar on my upper left arm. And a really really nice bruise for the next couple weeks.
