Finally got the photos from the wedding up. It was very pretty and a great time.
As an added bonus that weekend, I was able to go to the Philadelphia Flower Show. And took photos. The show is such a part of my memories & my growing up. Every year I went with my Aunt Mazie when she was alive, my Aunt Lynne or my father. My father worked for PECO and since they always had a display, we got in with the vendors on the early day. It was so much fun and so beautiful. The theme this year was New Orleans and it was everything I remembered.
Hi all,
I'm taking several days off from posting my Lyric of the Day. I'm attempting to have some sort of mini-vacation in Philadelphia (though I've spent the morning working, so go figure).
They'll resume sometime next week. Sorry for any inconvenience.
I'm sitting on my mother's porch on a kinda grey Sunday. Everyone is out - mom went to pick up my sister who is also in Phila this weekend (Kel spent the night at a friend's) & David went to church. I've got coffee, a book and my computer. And the TV is playing digital music because they don't have a radio. It's a thoroughly enjoyable morning. And this song comes on. I love this song. Course, I still didn't get a chance to see them because they played Phila Thursday night and I didn't come in until Friday morning. Ah well, maybe they'll get to Tampa eventually...
I just had a Lee's Hoagie for dinner. Turkey & provolone with oil & onions (they didn't remember the hot peppers, oh well, it's a long commute back to get them).
Your first question should be how did I get a Lee's Hoagie - a Philadelphia-only chain of hoagie places - in Florida? Well, thanks to a co-worker who went to Philadelphia for the weekend and asked me what I wanted him to bring back, I got a hoagie. And it was good - not as good as completely fresh, but still an Amaroso roll, and the special oil that only Lee's uses. Mmmmmm.
Philadelphia School District officially recognizes LGBTQ History Month.

Things I find amusing from these articles:
- the woman who is going to pull her kid out of school for all of October
- the guy who thinks that religion and sexual identity are polar opposites
- the 120 comments and complaints for just recognizing it - the district isn't doing anything special.
I'm headed up to Phila for my grandmother's 90th birthday party. It'll be good to see my sister, who is in from Portland, and all the cousins and family that I see about once every 10 years. My aunt and uncle are coming up from Maryland so that should be a lot of fun too. I'll post pictures from the party when I get a chance.
