What's the best thing between two slices of bread?
Submitted by Eric.
Well, now, that would depend on the bread.
A hoagie roll gets turkey, cheese, oil, lettuce, tomato, onion and hot peppers.
It could also get a cheese steak with onions and hot peppers.
White bread gets very rare roast beef with butter or brie, onions and tomato.
Wheat bread gets blackened tofu, lettuce, tomato, carrot, chipolte veganese, avocado and onion.
Rye or pumpernickel gets turkey and cheese (preferably cheddar) and grilled.
A bagel gets cream cheese.
Dinner rolls get flavored olive oil or butter.
I'm sure I'm missing something, but those are my favorites.
What's your favorite thing about yourself?
Hmmm. I like me as a whole. Not one particular thing stands out as being my favourite. I am the sum of my parts - physical and mental - and I like that sum.
What do you think would make your life better?
Submitted by Simon.
I find it interesting that many people have said more money. Now, I concur, but only enough to do what I want to do (travel) and get out of debt. Not enough to stop working (I'd be bored), or to put me in the next tax bracket.
But I also don't think it would make my life better per se. I think it would make it easier. Same for more time in a day. It wouldn't make it better, it would just make things easier.
There's not much right now that could make my life better. I have a fabulous partner and wife in R. I have a job that I mostly don't hate. I have good friends and family that like me for who I am - proverbial warts and all. I'm working on the parts of me that need work (physically and mentally) and that's going well.
So, no. There's nothing that could make my life better. Money and time would make it easier, but I love my life. Warts and all.
What's your favorite thing to eat for Sunday breakfast/brunch?
Whatever Rita's cooking. This week it's Eggs Florentine with Canadian Bacon or Pumpkin Pecan Pancakes. Have I mentioned it's good to be married to a chef? ;)
What would you attempt to do if you knew you wouldn't fail?
Submitted by Beautifully Broken
Well, I if I know I won't fail, it's not an attempt, is it?
But in the spirit that the question was asked, I'm open to trying anything, fail or not. Life is too short to worry about the what if I fail. Plus, I learn as much from my failures as I do my successes. So anything is open to try.
What's your favorite scent?
Sex...
If you could raise awareness about one cause, what would it be?
Oh this one's a no brainer: equal rights - specifically LGBT rights.
Which is why the HRC gets my money and my time (when I have any of either).
Where's your favorite place to have Sunday brunch?
Heh. These days, there's only one place I want to have Sunday Brunch:
Hooker Tea
Ignore the menu - it changes weekly. This week it's baked eggs with collard greens and ham and sweet potato pancakes with chestnuts and creme anglaise. Last week, it was seafood or veggie quiche...
What word or phrase drives you absolutely nuts?

The use of "sex" when "gender" is meant.
I also really hate when people get "it's" "its" wrong.
Other than that, I can't think of any. I used to care a lot. But English is a living language and as phrases and words evolve, enter and leave the language, I can roll with it.
Sounds funny for a former English teacher to say, doesn't it?l
What is your most valuable possession and why?
I am my most valuable possession. Everything else is just the details.
