One that either makes me laugh or makes me think. One that isn't US or Northern Hemisphere centric. One that's not too juvenile, but fun. One that requires some introspection or serious contemplation. One that I can learn something not only about myself but about my 'hood.
]]>If you could do anything you want tomorrow, what would it be?

Ahhh...travel. But since I've decided to take myself on vacation this weekend, I'm doing a tiny bit of that. I'm headed down to the Don Cesar in St. Pete Beach. I was going to get on a plane and go somewhere, but decided that what I really wanted to do was a whole lot of beach/pool sitting, reading, writing, drinking, eating, sex. And St. Pete Beach is far enough away that I can't easily run home, but close enough that if I need something or something happens, I can be home in about an hour.
Various people will probably be joining me at least for parts of day and/or nights; I know R is staying at least Saturday night and k&c have said they're coming over one day. But mostly, I wanted to get away from my routine and really have some decompression time. So that's my Tracey Vacation.
But to get back to the question, mostly I live my life doing what I want (work being the exception) because it's too short to not. So what I do tomorrow will be what I want to do.

I've blogged this speech before. But it's worth putting up again.
America
isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You gotta want it bad,
'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say "You want free speech?
Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's
standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which
you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to
claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your
country can't just be a flag; the symbol also has to be one of its
citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Show me
that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms. Then, you can
stand up and sing about the "land of the free". I've known Bob Rumson
for years, and I've been operating under the assumption that the reason
Bob devotes so much time and energy to shouting at the rain was that he
simply didn't get it. Well, I was wrong. Bob's problem isn't that he
doesn't get it. Bob's problem is that he can't sell it. Nobody has ever
won an election by talking about what I was just talking about. This is
a country made up of people with hard jobs that they're terrified of
losing. The roots of freedom are of little or no interest to them at
the moment. We are a nation afraid to go out at night. We're a society
that has assigned low priority to education and has looked the other
way while our public schools have been decimated. We have serious
problems to solve, and we need serious men to solve them. And whatever
your particular problem is, friend, I promise you, Bob Rumson is not
the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things
and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to

First, it's spelled doughnut. Why is that so difficult to understand?
Second, how do you pick just one? It all depends on my mood and who is making them. When I used to have a sweet tooth (I lost it in the divorce) Krispy Kreme glazed were the standard. But a good homemade raspberry filled jelly filled was outstanding. A beignet in New Orleans at 3 am with a cup of chicory coffee rocks. Or, if you wanted to take me back, a fastnach (sp?) would be the way to go. They were what my Nana, my paternal grandmother, made occasionally and remind me of her.
So really, I can't just pick just one.
What did you learn in kindergarten that you wish you did a better job of applying to the way you live your life today?
Well, I went to a Montessori preschool and kindergarten, so I would have to say the French that they taught us. I really really wish I had kept it up.

Every new "Today" seems more anxious than ever. Do you find more solace in "Yesterday" or "Tomorrow"? Why?

Neither. Yesterday can't be changed; Tomorrow is uncertain. I take Today as it comes, take "solace" (since that is your word) from the fact that life is too short to be miserable or bored. I'm not sure that Today is "anxious", I think it's just life and I need to live it to the fullest. So that I do.
