- They like it and give it 3.5 stars out of 5. Now, I don't always hold with RS reviews (which is why I use about 5 sources when I purchase CDs for the library), but c'mon. How can they do this? But that's not the worst of it.
- Melissa Maerz refers to An Inconvenient Truth in the review, and not in a particularly good way. But the thing that pisses me off the most is...
- The fact that she refers to one of my favorite poems of all time in this review. I'm not a Frost fan, but Fire and Ice
is concise, well-formed and so very very true. And because I mean it, here's the whole thing:
Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
-Robert Frost, Fire and Ice
Damn, if I could write poetry like that, I really would go back for my MFA.
Shit. I just did what I'm giving the reviewer shit for. Dammit. (And I only recognized it when I was tagging this entry.)
Totally and completely unrelated, one of the potentials on House tonight referred to a woman's vagina as a "hoo hoo". I just completely cracked up.
Maureen Dowd interviewed Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert for Rolling Stone. I love both of them; ok I love all 3 of them. Read part of the interview here.
